Specialty Item
Moving.
Pianos, safes and oversized items handled with appropriate planning and equipment — the pieces that need to be discussed before moving day.
Some items need
their own plan.
A piano, a gun safe, a large sculpture or an oversized sectional is not just a heavy box. Each one needs the right equipment, the right number of people and a route through the property that actually fits.
The important part happens before moving day: knowing the item, its weight, where it sits now, where it needs to go and what the doorways, stairs and turns look like along the way. Tell us about these items when you request the quote, not when the crew arrives.
How specialty items
are handled.
The exact scope depends on the property, access and what you ask for — this is the shape of a typical job.
Item assessment
Type, size, weight and current location reviewed before the move is scheduled.
Route measurement
Doorways, stairs, turns and elevators checked against the dimensions of the item.
Specialized equipment
Dollies, boards, straps and padding appropriate to the piece.
Crew sized to the job
Heavy and awkward items get the number of movers the job actually requires.
Protective wrapping
Padding and wrapping suited to the surface and construction of the item.
Placement at destination
Positioned where you want it, since moving it again later is not trivial.
Details that change
the plan.
Check the doorways
The most common problem is an item that will not fit through the route, not its weight.
Mention it early
Specialty items change crew size and equipment — they belong in the quote request.
Type matters
Upright and grand pianos are very different jobs. Tell us which one you have.
From first call
to final box.
Tell Us
Share the origin, destination, date, property type and basic inventory.
Plan
We review access, timing, crew size and protection needs before moving day.
Move
Your crew protects, loads, transports and unloads with an organized workflow.
Settle In
Items are placed where requested so you can get settled faster.
Before you
book.
Yes. Tell us whether it is an upright or a grand, which floor it is on and what the stairs or elevator access looks like.
Safes are handled case by case. We need the weight, dimensions, current floor and the access route at both addresses.
That is exactly why we measure first. If the normal route does not work, we discuss the alternatives with you before moving day.
Always. They affect crew size, equipment and timing, so a quote without them is not an accurate picture of the job.
